A Complete Guide for Skilled Worker Application New Zealand Immigration

The land of the long white cloud, New Zealand is known for its breathtaking landscapes to mesmerizing blue lakes, but it ain't fair if you do not know about its skilled worker visa policy.

The 'Skilled Migrant Category' is a type of grant for skilled workers who possess skills needed in New Zealand that could help you settle down and contribute ultimately to the country.

Skilled Worker Visa

A work visa in New Zealand is usually for a specific time frame. A work visa can be provided on shore and offshore where it would share travel conditions (if it is a single entry or multiple entry). A work visa is provided with the help of the employer who wants you to work in their organization/business. The Immigration Department of New Zealand gives global talents local opportunities to work and settle down in New Zealand with reliability, ease, and flexibility.

The visa process starts with a two-step process where you submit the Expression Of Interest (EOI), in the form of a very long questionnaire - based on your age, work experience, qualifications and the offer of a job. This is required to assess the suitability and requirement. We as one of your reliable New Zealand immigration consultants would guide you through each step in the process and ensure you not only meet the requirements but can also prove your claims with acceptable supporting information.

How do I get a Skilled Migrant Visa?

It's a points-based system wherein criteria like age, qualifications, work experience, or a job offer in New Zealand matters. This starts with an EOI. Once it is accepted, the candidate will be selected for Invited To Apply (ITA) for residence. Once they are eligible to obtain at least 160 points, and satisfy the mandatory health and character requirements - they are given the green signal for skilled worker visa application.

How it works

  • Self assess your skills and check if you can meet the requirements.
  • Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) online after which you can refer to the fees and offices by contacting us.
  • If you are selected, you would receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
  • Next, you can submit a resident application.
  • You will then receive your visa to have a resident visa.

How long does it take?

Usually a prioritized visa process takes about 4-7 months but it may vary over time and other external factors. A non-prioritised application would take 10-18 months.
