How do I get a Skilled Migrant Visa?
It's a points-based system wherein criteria like age, qualifications, work experience, or a job offer in New Zealand matters. This starts with an EOI. Once it is accepted, the candidate will be selected for Invited To Apply (ITA) for residence. Once they are eligible to obtain at least 160 points, and satisfy the mandatory health and character requirements - they are given the green signal for skilled worker visa application.

How long does it take?
Usually a prioritized visa process takes about 4-7 months but it may vary over time and other external factors. A non-prioritised application would take 10-18 months.
The skilled worker must work for a UK employer approved by the Home Office, and must possess a 'certificate of sponsorship' from your employer.

The minimum salary eligibility must be met based on the type of work you do.
Must have a confirmed job offer before applying for a visa.
Knowledge of English must be proved by either passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider, or having a GCSE, level 4 or 5, or having a degree-level academic qualification that was taught in English.
How much it costs
Charges for dependents will be applicable for application fee (from £610 to £1,408 depending on your circumstances), healthcare surcharge for each year of your stay(usually £624 per year). You will also have to prove that you have enough personal savings you'll usually need to have at least £1,270 available (unless you're exempt).
If the job is on a shortage occupation list, you'll be paying a lower application fee.
You'll also need to prove you can have financial assistance of £1,270 if your employer cannot cover these costs.
If you're applying from outside the UK, the normal standard of fees is £610 up to 3 years and £1,220 for more than 3 years, per person.
The healthcare surcharge fee for each year of your stay is usually £624 per year.
Must have at least £1,270 to show that you can support yourself in the UK.
To avoid showing proof for financial assistance, your employer must support you instead. The certificate of sponsorship from the employer will suffice in this condition.
