Malaysia Visa Services

Malaysia is one of the most popular and most visited countries in Southeast Asia. Thousands of visitors come to Malaysia every year, whether to work or study or leisure purposes. To enter Malaysia, you need to apply for a visa according to the intent of your visit to Malaysia.

Malaysia Visa Eligibility

Visa eligibility requirements are comparatively lenient for Indian residents.
Following are the eligibility requirements to apply for the Malaysia visa:

  • A valid Indian passport
  • Sufficient funds to sponsor your stay
  • Must possess a return ticket
  • You must submit a complete arrival/departure card when you enter or leave Malaysia
  • If you are seeking entry in Malaysia to work or to get permanent residency, it is necessary to have a sponsor.
  • Must meet all eligibility requirements

People barred from entering Malaysia are listed according to section 8 of the Malaysian Immigration Act 1959/63.

Malaysia Visa: Application Process

There are two visas through which a Malaysian visa can be made. One through the visa application with reference and second through a visa application with reference. Malaysian visa lacking reference is authorized by Malaysia's High Commission whereas a visa application with reference is submitted to and approved by Malaysia's Department of Immigration / Other Authority Agencies.

Initiating a Malaysia visa process can be done either online or offline. The process is entirely dependent on the type of visa you require. The Malaysia Visa applications will have to be submitted at your nearest Malaysian Representative Office Abroad. However, for Indians, online visa applications must need to be applied through the I-Visa system.

You'll need to apply for a visa without reference in the case of a social visit. Visits not of a social nature require a guide. This form of visa is provided for students, dependents, business professionals visiting Malaysia and those seeking jobs.

Documents Required for Malaysia Visa

The documents needed to apply for Malaysian Visa Application depends on the nature and intent of your visit.

Social Visit

  • Original passport
  • Two passport size photographs

For Indian nationals visiting Malaysia for social purpose, visa application need not be submitted with a reference.

  • An approval letter authorised by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
